Primary care for cut flowers

Following these tips for flower care you can keep your flower arrangement for several days

We are delighted that you have received a flower arrangement and you liked it so much that you have decided to take care of it with much love.

That is why we created this guide so that you can know the primary care for cut flowers. Get ready that this beautiful bouquet or arrangement will last you days.

Cut Flowers

  • Clean water is essential for your flowers. We want to avoid all kinds of bacteria, so we recommend placing a drop of chlorine as a bactericide at every water change. As well as a teaspoon of ordinary sugar as food.
  • The stems should be cut about 2 or 3 cm diagonally with a sharp tool so as not to damage the stem and make a clean cut. Every time the water is changed, it is advisable to cut the stem a little more, preventing the end from rotting as this hinders the healthy absorption of water.
  • The light has to be sufficient but not direct. If it does not receive enough light, the flowers lengthen in search of the sun, which translates into an expenditure of energy that could be used to develop and maintain their flowers.
  • Cleaning the vase is as important as cleaning the water. Every time we change the water, we have to wash the jar with soap and water. Any trace of dust or water above could compromise the life of our flowers.
  • Concerning to the vase, we have to take care not to cram it with flowers, since it prevents oxygenation and the free development of each flower. It is preferable to distribute in two or more vases than to shorten the duration of our flowers for a bushy bouquet.

Follow these simple care and your flower arrangement will last for much longer. It is a very gratifying task to be able to keep alive that detail that filled you with so much joy.
